Olympic Handball Ireland is proud to announce the signing of the European Handball Federation (EHF) Master Plan 2025 agreement, a major step in the continued development of our sport nationwide.
The EHF Master Plan is a strategic support fund created by the European Handball Federation to help its member federations grow and professionalise the game across Europe. Through this initiative, the EHF invests directly in national projects that strengthen handball from the grassroots to elite level, ensuring sustainable growth and stronger connections with players, clubs, fans, and communities.
A central priority for Olympic Handball Ireland will be to close the gap between schools and clubs. With more than 6,000 students already participating in handball through schools, we are determined to create clearer pathways for young players to transition into regular club activity.
Alongside this, our focus will be on expanding coaching education, increasing the number of volunteers, and supporting the growth of new and existing clubs. These steps will ensure a stronger foundation for the sport, with greater opportunities for participation and long-term sustainability.
This collaboration with the EHF marks an exciting new chapter for Olympic Handball Ireland. With the support of the Master Plan Fund, we are committed to building capacity, raising visibility, and creating more opportunities for players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and fans across the country.
