Beach Handball

The OHI Beach Handball Championship is Ireland’s top summer sports event, bringing together teams from across the country for a weekend of sun, sand, fun and friendly competition. 

But this annual mini-championship isn’t just about winning - it's a celebration of community, sportsmanship and one of the most popular team sports in the world. Beach handball is a popular variation of the Handball game and the OHI Beach Handball Championship is played each year, with both men's and women's divisions. Teams compete in group stages to progress to knockout rounds. Matches are played on sandy courts, with teams of four players each.
