Referee

A game of handball is officiated by two referees, a scorekeeper and a timekeeper. These officials are essential for making sure that any game of handball is played fairly and effectively. Referees are just as important in the handball community as the players themselves! Without our referees and match officials we would not be able to run games or leagues efficiently.

If you are interested in joining the Olympic Handball community by becoming a referee or match official, reach out to joao@olympichandball.org.

Referee Workshops

OHI runs Referee’s Workshop regularly for both existing and new referees to learn how to referee a match, or refresh their knowledge. The cost of the course is €50 per person.

If you would like to know more, please reach out to joao@olympichandball.org.

Becoming a Match Official

OHI runs workshops regularly for people wanting to learn how to officiate matches, or for existing match officials who want to brush up on their knowledge.

The workshop will provide the opportunity to learn how to, or improve efficiencies on, scorekeeping and timekeeping a handball game. The cost of the course is €50.
