Olympic Handball Ireland (OHI) is excited to announce that we have been awarded significant funding from Sport Northern Ireland and the UK National Lottery. This grant comes under Sport Northern Ireland’s Sports System Investment – New Governing Bodies (SSI-NGB) initiative, made possible by continued National Lottery funding.

The grant is a vital recognition of the strides we’ve made in growing handball across the island of Ireland. Michael Moloney, Secretary General of OHI, shared his enthusiasm, stating:

“Being awarded this grant is recognition of the role Olympic Handball Ireland can play in delivering our shared ambitions in ‘The Power of Sport,’ and is testament to the hard work put in by our board members, staff, and volunteers over the last four years.”

Since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, the OHI board and team have been relentlessly focused on expanding handball across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This funding will enable us to deliver various projects aligned with our overall strategy for the sport, further strengthening handball’s presence on the island.

We look forward to implementing new initiatives, enhancing opportunities for participation, and continuing to unite communities through the power of sport.

Stay tuned for updates on these exciting projects!
