Since October last year, schools from across the country have been battling it out in one of the largest handball competitions on the national calendar. After months of matches, fierce regional contests and standout performances, the journey culminated in Dublin on Wednesday, April 9th, with the All-Ireland Schools Finals 2025.
Held at the National Indoor Arena, this year’s Finals brought together 28 of the top primary and secondary school teams from three provinces. With over 400 teams participating in the wider competition since autumn, this was the final chapter in an epic season of school handball.
Olympic Handball Ireland’s school competition continues to grow each year, offering a fun, inclusive and competitive introduction to the sport for players of all skill levels. Open to both primary and secondary schools, the format creates opportunities for every child to participate, compete, and fall in love with the game.
Congratulations to every school that made it to this stage — and to the hundreds more who took part across the year. You’ve all helped to make this one of the most exciting competitions yet.
We’ll be opening registrations soon for the 25/26 All-Ireland Schools Competition, which will begin again in October 2025.
If you’re a teacher, coach or student who wants to get involved, now is the perfect time to start planning. This competition is more than just sport — it’s about community, opportunity, and growth.
Next year promises to be even bigger. We can’t wait to see you on the court.
