Olympic Handball Ireland is thrilled to announce the upcoming celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2026. Since our founding in 1976, we’ve seen handball grow from grassroots passion to a nationwide sport with a vibrant, diverse community — and now, it's time to celebrate everything we’ve built together.

The 50-Year Celebration will take place on Saturday, 7th March 2026, in the evening, at a venue in Dublin city centre. While full details will be shared in the new year, we invite everyone across Ireland’s adult handball community — past and present players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters, and friends — to save the date and join us for this milestone event.

Themed “50 Years of Olympic Handball in Ireland: Building Our Future Together”, the evening will include:

• A look back at the human stories that shaped handball in Ireland

• Inspiring guest speakers and panel discussions with handball experts

• A presentation of Olympic Handball Ireland’s strategic roadmap

• Community Q&A, networking, and informal social time
